OpenKYC ("we", "us") operates the website openkyc.org. We are building a privacy-preserving identity product, so we hold ourselves to a simple rule: collect as little as possible. This page explains what we collect today, why, and your rights.

What we collect

  • Waitlist email address. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit. We use it solely to contact you about OpenKYC early access and launch updates. Submissions are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent abuse; Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser to distinguish humans from bots (see Cloudflare's privacy documentation).
  • Anonymous usage analytics. We use self-hosted, cookie-free analytics (Umami) to understand aggregate site traffic: pages viewed, referrer, browser type, and country. No cookies are set, no cross-site identifiers are used, and IP addresses are not stored as part of analytics records.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing cookies.
  • We do not collect identity documents or verification data through this website.

Legal basis

For waitlist emails, the legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time. For anonymous analytics and abuse prevention, the basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Retention

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe, you ask us to delete them, or the waitlist program ends. Aggregate analytics contain no personal identifiers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us. We will respond promptly.
